Why Shakes For Menopause Relief Are Beneficial To Your Health

When the human body begins to age, several factors come into play. For women, the most significant stage in this aging process is the onset of menopause. This is the period in which the level of female reproductive hormones reduces significantly that egg production stops. This period, however, is not pleasant and comes with a barrage of symptoms that are often uncomfortable. Nevertheless, there are remedies such as soy shakes for losing weight that can help these women live comfortably.

Various studies have shown that there is a positive correlation between hormone replacement therapy and breast cancer risk. Soy-based products are natural and hence do not pose any known health risks at the moment. However, the challenge is that these products contain varying amounts of the active ingredients.

Menopausal symptoms such as hot flashes and night sweats is a big problem to many women. It can be a frustrating experience. Luckily enough, studies have shown that consuming products rich in soy-based phytoestrogens experience fewer menopausal symptoms, particularly hot flashes. However, this is a natural remedy that should be given at least one to three months to see positive results.

Isoflavones is one of the elements found in soy. These compounds contain phytoestrogens, properties that mimic the functions of natural estrogen. Hence, in practicality they use the same binding sites as estrogen, fooling the body into thinking that this hormone is present. Although it is weaker than the natural estrogen, it is believed to be effective in relieving hot flashes.

Medical professionals, however, recommend against taking high doses of isoflavones. This is because there is no FDA approval and being food products, they could be abused. Although they have been used safely in Asia for many centuries, different foods contain varying doses of phytoestrogens. Hence, the amount you will find in milk is not necessarily the same dose you will find in the same amount of tofu.

When menopause comes, women also experience risk of heart problem and poor bone density. These are general organs that highly depend on estrogen, and when levels decrease, problems are likely to arise. This could cause the walls of the heart to weaken and the bones to lose their density.

Many women suffer from osteoporosis as a postmenopausal condition due to reduced calcium levels in the body. By boosting the amount of calcium, isoflavones could be used to improve the density of bones during menopausal stages. Affected women could thus avoid using hormonal therapy.

Isoflavones also play a role in heart condition by controlling cholesterol levels. When the levels of LDL cholesterol increases, it can block the arterial walls and cause heart attacks. Isoflavones dilate coronary arteries, leading to better blood flow.

Before using any supplements, it is always advisable that you talk to your doctor. You doctor should examine you and determine the right dosage you should use and the frequency. This is because while isoflavones have estrogen-like effects, people tend to react differently to these supplements. Consulting your physician ensures that what you are taking is safe for your body.
