The Process Through Which Safeguard Clothing Are Made

By Frank Patterson

We live in a world that is truly unsafe. Gun violence has become very common in the society today, and not even the law can assure us of our safety. This is why many civilians have opted to suit up in safeguard clothing. You may not have known this but some places are so unsafe, and bullet proof clothing is allowed. This does not mean you should walk into dangerous situations as you may steal get hurt.

The basic material can either be Kevlar or Dyneema. From any one of these two materials, manufacturers can be able to make a strong yet light fiber vest suited to be bullet proof thus becoming relevant. With the Dyneema, it is formed through the gel spinning process which results in it forming a strong yet soft material. Kevlar involves the spinning of a solid thread from a liquid chemical blend.

The yarn is a strong and continuous fiber that is used in forming material. The fiber is then woven together into cords and into yarns. These are usually in different usually in many different colors. The main colors are jungle green, black, navy blue and even white. The clients can choose the color of their liking, and for police and other units, they choose those that go with their uniform.

A sheet material is formed as the yarn are woven further. These materials appear like normal fabric material which you would take to a tailor for them to make clothing for you. This material is then taken to the protection clothing making companies where the process of making bullet proof clothes can now begin.

There are special machines that are used to cut up the material into smaller piece. They can be able to cut into different sizes as required. The front and the back are of different sizes, and these too are put into consideration. The material may be all soft but cutting it up with scissors will take forever and it you are more likely to make mistakes.

The cut up material is assembled in a way to form ballistic panels. A number of the cut up materials are placed on top of each other until the thickness required is accomplished. Layers of Kevlar are stitched together in order to form these panels. Different vests have different thicknesses depending on who they are made for.

After the assembling of the material, there needs to be a protective cover. This is like your phone having a screen protector to prevent it from breaking. The cover can be heat sealed as a way of protecting the ballistic material inside. This is mainly from humidity and water. The cover is what makes the vest have its bullet proof qualities.

The flying cover carrier has pockets in which ballistic panels are introduced. The pockets in each carrier can actually be increased in order to carry more ballistics. The pockets also help to hold in place the ballistics on the body of the person wearing it. This is the simplest way bullet proof vest making can be explained.
